Cutting Back On Sugary Food And Drink Helps Immensely
The only thing worse than flossing is being told to eat less sugary foods! Alas, this is still an important part of your childrens’ oral health regimen. Sugary foods put a lot of stress on the teeth to keep themselves clean, that of which can compound when your child forgets one or two nights of flossing. Try swapping out candy and soda with less sugary snacks, such as trail mix or dried fruit. Not only is it better for their diet, it’ll make the next dentist trip much less frustrating!
Turn Oral Care Into A Fun Habit For Everyone
When in doubt…just make oral health fun! Brushing, flossing, and rinsing isn’t a chore, nor should it be treated like one. Give your children incentives to practice good oral health, such as seeing who can brush the funniest or floss the quickest. Your childrens dentist will do the rest of the dental work. Recent studies have shown cavities and root canals are twenty times more common than diabetes and five times more common than childhood asthma.
