The video discusses some ways a person can exercise additional preventative dental care strategies aside from the basic preventative measures.

The video advises people to drink water that has fluoride in it. Those with filtration systems in their homes can try to eat foods that are fortified with fluoride.

Another tip the speaker gives is for people to chew sugar-free gum in between meals to neutralize the acids in the mouth.

Gum with sugar is likely to accelerate bacterial growth and tooth decay. However, sugar-free gum containing xylitol can be a man or woman’s best friend and advocate in fighting tooth decay. The chewing action and the flavor of the gum will stimulate saliva production. Xylitol also has properties that fight off certain types of bacteria.

No one should ever let acidic foods linger in the mouth. All people should swallow them immediately upon chewing them and also rinse the mouth out with water. Another tip is to use a straw to drink acidic drinks and avoid swishing such things around in the mouth. These practices will keep the acidic items away from the teeth as much as possible and help the individual to maintain a neutralized oral cavity. More tips are available in the video.
